CAMPS FOR KIDS

Studio Mid-Del offers art camps for kids ages 6-12 years throughout the year. Before and after child care is available for an additional fee of $10 per week per child.  Each camp has a new theme with plenty of exciting projects. Children should bring a lunch, two beverages, a snack and wear old clothes. All materials are provided. A limited number of partial scholarships are available on a first come first served basis. Register early!

Love Your Planet

Instructor: Sheridan Scott

We are going “green” as we try to protect our environment through recycling. 

We’ll use found objects, make our own paper, create recycling bags, as we learn to love and care for our planet.

Art Around the World

Celebrate the diversity of our planet through art.

Study other cultures while making many of their traditional creations.

 

Learning How to Draw Animals: Real and Imagined

Dates:  Mon.-Fri. June 2-6

Time:   9:00 a.m.-Noon

Ages:   6+

Cost:   $50

Campers will learn how to draw real animals and by the end of the week will draw their own.

They will  create an animal skull and develop their own imagined animal by studying what we know in nature.

 

It’s a Colorful World!

Mother Nature has provided us with a palette of amazing colors!

Start your art adventure with the exciting experience of mixing some of those magical colors.

Then progress to painting on paper and canvas. to create a book of color.

 

Drums in the Family

(A Child and Family Musical Experience)

Does rhythm run in your family?

Come and find out in this introduction to drumming camp which allows you to discover the sounds of the djembe drums used in cultural drumming.

Students will learn technique, basic rhythm patterns, improvisation, and learn to play in a drum circle.

On June 6 a special concluding performance will be held from 7:00-8:00 p.m.  Be sure to invite family and friends!!!

 

The Beat of the Summer

The joy of music is felt through the beat of the different drums provided by the instructor for this camp.

Students will learn to perform individually and in a group setting.

Discover the world of percussion instruments through hands-on fun!

A special performance will conclude this class at 3:00 p.m. on June 13. Family and friends are invited!

 

Photography for Kids

Learn to frame your picture, crop a photo, and print it.

 Learn to prepare breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks and desserts in a colorfully healthy and creative way.

 

Short Story Surprises

Everybody loves a short story! You can write yours during this class that encourages creative writing.

Prepare an autobiography (a story all about YOU), a non-fiction story (one that is true), a fiction story (one that is make-believe) and a cartoon.

Then share your creations with your classmates, family and friends at our “Short Story Share-a-Thon” that promises to be lots of fun!

 

Magic “3M” Camp

Monkey Business

Meet the clown of the jungle in this camp that will explore the world of monkeys.

Use paper-mache, fabric, paint and printer’s ink to create a jungle mural complete with mischievous monkeys!

 

An Arts Smorgasbord

Each day of this weeklong adventure presents new techniques and tons of fun.

Try your hand at drawing, painting, clay, printmaking, and mask making.

 

Next Level Performance

Work with a master teacher to get tips to bring your performances to “the next level”.

The Art Walk of Fame

See your footprints in art. Take an art walk studying your own and animal footprints.

You will work as teams to put footprints on paper to learn the elements of design.

Groups will work in secrecy to create a gigantic wall hanging.

 

Puppet Productions

In this lively camp, we’ll explore the world of puppetry.

We’ll make a puppet stage, learn about many types of puppets, and create a production for our family and friends.

 

Arts Outside the Box

This camp will explore many art forms that are not as common as drawing and painting.

atik, mosaics, fiber art, and papermaking will thrill campers as each technique presents its own unique challenges.

Extreme Mosaics

Take a base foundation and give it an extreme makeover with paper and tile mosaic arts.

Combine textures, shapes and colors to create your own mosaic. Create a stepping stone for the garden.
